Are you an experienced data professional looking to shape the future of enterprise data? My client are seeking a Data Management Lead to develop and oversee the implementation of robust data management practices. In this pivotal role, you will ensure high data quality, governance, and compliance across the organization, establishing critical frameworks for their Enterprise Data Foundation and driving implementation through real-world business use cases.

You will collaborate closely with data governance, engineering, and business teams to truly enable data as a trusted, high-value asset.

Key Responsibilities

As the Data Management Lead, your accountability spans across several critical data domains:

  • Data Quality Management: Establish and manage data quality frameworks to ensure all data is accurate, complete, and reliable. You will oversee the creation of data quality dashboards and KPIs to monitor critical data assets.

  • Master & Reference Data Management (MDM/RDM): Drive the enterprise MDM/RDM strategy to ensure consistent and accurate master data across core business domains, including customers, policies, and claims.

  • Metadata & Lineage: Implement robust processes and systems to map, capture, and maintain comprehensive metadata and data lineage.

  • Regulatory & Compliance Oversight: Ensure all data management practices strictly align with regulatory, industry, and privacy standards, working in close partnership with compliance teams.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with enterprise data architecture, data delivery, and business units to embed data management throughout the entire data life cycle (from sourcing to consumption).

  • Data Security & Privacy: Coordinate with IT and security teams to protect data assets from unauthorized access, breaches, or loss.

  • Training & Advocacy: Lead training initiatives to raise awareness and champion best-in-class data management practices across the wider organization.

  • Customer Conduct: Understand and adhere to the FCA Conduct Rules and the Conduct Framework to consistently deliver excellent customer outcomes.

Skills and Experience Required

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • Domain Expertise: Strong, proven domain knowledge within the Insurance industry.

  • Delivery Capability: Hands-on experience developing and executing strategic data roadmaps and implementation plans.

  • Technical Data Management: Deep expertise in data quality, metadata, lineage, and MDM/RDM strategies.

  • Tools & Platforms: Familiarity with modern data management platforms such as Purview, Collibra, or Informatica.

  • Cloud Ecosystems: Practical experience working with cloud data environments, specifically Azure, alongside standard data governance tools.

  • Collaboration: Exceptional ability to work alongside, influence, and guide cross-functional teams to implement and enforce data solutions.
