Finance Architect - Insurance (up to £1,000 a day outside IR35)
We are currently partnering with a Market-Leading Insurance company to recruit a Finance Architect on a contract basis. The successful candidate will lead the design of finance systems, data flows, and target operating models in a major transformation programme, collaborating with Finance, Actuarial, Technology, and Change teams to ensure compliance, alignment, and scalable, future-proof finance capabilities.
Key Responsibilities;
- Define and own the Finance Architecture Blueprint, ensuring alignment with enterprise and data architecture strategies.
- Lead architecture design for finance systems, general ledgers, sub-ledgers, actuarial data, and financial reporting platforms.
- Shape end-to-end data lineage, integration patterns, and control frameworks across finance and actuarial domains.
- Provide architectural oversight for major finance change initiatives (e.g., Solvency II, IFRS 17, automation, ledger replacement).
- Translate business requirements into robust architectural designs and solution options in collaboration with Finance SMEs.
- Ensure all solutions adhere to regulatory, audit, security, and risk standards.
- Influence senior stakeholders and challenge existing technical and functional approaches.
- Oversee vendor evaluation and selection while ensuring all architecture artefacts and designs are high quality and compliant.
The ideal candidate should have;
- Extensive background as a Finance Architect, Solution Architect, or Enterprise Architect within Insurance.
- Deep understanding of Finance & Actuarial processes, including reporting cycles, consolidation, planning, forecasting, and regulatory reporting.
- Strong technical knowledge of finance systems and tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Workday, OneStream, Tagetik, AWS/Azure data platforms).
- Experience designing architectures for: General ledger & sub-ledger platforms, Finance data warehouses & Controls and reconciliation frameworks
