We're looking for Founding Staff Engineer to lead our extraordinary team. Someone who thinks the internet is worth defending, and who is determined to have an outsized impact on the future of the web.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role based in London for a Founding Staff Engineer. As a Founding Staff Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and deploying cutting-edge systems to address the challenges of misinformation and AI deception. Responsibilities include building scalable infrastructure, contributing to architectural decisions, and mentoring team members. You will work alongside a highly collaborative team to lead engineering efforts that shape the success of the platform.

Qualifications

• Backend Mastery: Expert-level Python with deep experience in FastAPI and asyncio for building high-concurrency, non-blocking systems.
• Cloud Native Infrastructure: Proven track record of deploying and scaling systems using Kubernetes, Docker, and Kafka across AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Web Intelligence & Extraction: Advanced understanding of the web-scraping ecosystem, including Playwright/Selenium, and navigating complex browser fingerprinting, proxies, and anti-bot measures.
• Full-Stack Capability: Proficient in modern frontend development using React, Vite, and Tailwind CSS to deliver end-to-end features.
• Data Architecture: Deep experience with diverse data stores, specifically PostgreSQL, ElasticSearch, and NoSQL (MongoDB), including schema design and performance tuning.
• System Design: Expert knowledge of RESTful API design and complex asynchronous request handling.
• Technical Leadership: Experience as a founding or lead engineer in a high-growth startup, with a demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and set architectural standards.
• Education: A degree in Computer Science or a related field; advanced degrees are preferred, though exceptional industry experience is equally valued.
