Data Technician
You will take ownership of complex datacoms and network environments supporting global customer connectivity, shaping how critical remote systems communicate and perform. This role offers hands-on exposure to advanced satellite and IP infrastructure, with clear opportunities for technical progression and problem-solving autonomy.
What you will need
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, including routing, switching and firewalls
- Experience in diagnosing and resolving complex technical faults in live environments
- Background in IT, telecommunications or satellite communications
- Ability to work both independently and within a technical engineering team
Salary and rewards
£30,000 to £32,000 plus career progression opportunities within a specialist engineering environment
What you will be doing
- Supporting and maintaining complex datacomms and network systems across customer environments
- Investigating and resolving escalated technical issues within agreed service levels
- Assisting with the build, configuration, testing and deployment of customer networks
- Working on satellite, VoIP, VPN and IP-based communication systems
- Producing clear technical documentation across live products
- Supporting field activity, including installations and surveys when required
Skills and background
- Strong knowledge of networking principles and IP-based communications
- Experience with routers, firewalls and secure network configurations
- Understanding of server operating systems such as Windows or Linux
- Ability to interpret technical issues and implement structured resolutions
- Strong communication skills when working with customers and internal teams
