Shape the future direction of complex defence systems by influencing how proven technology is reused, adapted and integrated across multiple programmes. Essential requirements Experience delivering complex engineered products across the full lifecycleBroad engineering background with a strong understanding of design and development processesAbility to influence senior technical and business stakeholdersExperience leading technical activities across multiple projects or programmesStrong understanding of systems engineering principles and technical risk managementWhat is in it for you£50,000 to £57,500 plus bonus and a strong overall package.
What you will be doing
Drive engineering commonality, modularity and reuse across multiple defence programmesAssess opportunities to reuse existing technologies and design solutions while balancing performance, risk and security considerationsLead the management of technical risks, product dependencies and obsolescence challengesWork closely with engineering, commercial and finance teams to improve efficiency and reduce duplication of effortInfluence future product strategies through informed technical decision makingAct as a key link between engineering functions, specialist teams and programme stakeholdersYour experience Significant experience within systems engineering or a related engineering disciplineUnderstanding of complex products and their development lifecyclesAbility to analyse and communicate sophisticated technical issues with clarityExperience balancing technical performance, cost and delivery considerationsStrong stakeholder engagement and influencing skillsExperience of commonality, modularity, reuse or product standardisation approaches would be advantageousWhere you will workBolton, hybrid working with 2 to 3 days per week onsite. Alternatively can be based in Bristol or Hertfordshire.
