Technology-Focused Knowledge Lawyer / Commercial Technology Lawyer

We are seeking a Technology-focused Knowledge Lawyer or a Commercial Technology Lawyer looking to transition into a strategic knowledge role.
About the Role:
- Permanent position, hybrid working (3 days in office)
- Work closely with partners and fee earners to shape best practice, drive innovation, and enhance technical excellence
- Blend traditional knowledge responsibilities with involvement in AI initiatives, legal tech adoption, and client-facing innovation projects
- Focus on technology, including IT contracts, SaaS, cloud, licensing, digital transformation, outsourcing, and emerging AI/cyber regulations
We are keen to speak with:
Technology Commercial Lawyers (Private Practice)
- Strong experience in technology transactions and complex IT contracts
- Exposure to outsourcing and digital transformation projects
- Familiarity with data protection, cyber and/or AI governance
- Interest in moving into a knowledge-focused, strategic role
OR
Technology Knowledge Lawyers
- Established knowledge and experience within a commercial/technology practice
- Strong technical grounding in technology and outsourcing work
- Comfortable engaging with regulatory developments in data and AI
Experience & Background Required
- Qualified solicitor with strong private practice experience in a recognised Commercial/Technology team with an interest in moving into a strategic, knowledge-driven role
- Mid-to-senior associate (4+ PQE) with strong commercial technology experience
- Knowledge lawyers with established experience in tech/commercial practice and strong technical grounding
- Demonstrable experience advising on complex technology and IT arrangements
- Exposure to data protection and non-contentious cyber matters
- Awareness of emerging AI regulatory frameworks
- A consistent career history demonstrating strong tenure and progression within reputable firms
Key Responsibilities
- Acting as a subject matter expert across technology and IT contracts, including SaaS, cloud, licensing, digital transformation and outsourcing arrangements
- Supporting regulated-sector outsourcing and large-scale technology projects
- Leading and contributing to AI governance and emerging technology regulatory initiatives
- Driving horizon scanning and thought leadership across technology, data protection and cyber
- Developing and maintaining high-quality precedents, playbooks and guidance materials
- Delivering internal and client-facing training programmes
- Supporting innovation strategy and legal technology deployment within the practice
