Business Analyst

Business Analyst – Digital & Technology Location: Doncaster (Hybrid – 2/3 days onsite) Salary: £55,000 + Bonus + Benefits

Elevation Recruitment Group are  partnering exclusively with a major, well-known UK retail group to find a Business Analyst to join their growing in-house digital technology team.

This is a genuinely interesting hire. The business has made a strategic decision to bring key capability in-house - reducing reliance on external partners - and this role is central to that shift. You'll be embedded within a close-knit delivery function, working alongside delivery leads, a solution architect, a small development team, and product owners across the wider business. The work is varied, meaningful, and visible.

As Business Analyst you will:

Take ownership of requirements across digital and technology initiatives - translating business needs into clear, well-structured documentation and actionable stories that the development team can actually work with. Day-to-day, expect a mix of stakeholder workshops, process mapping, Jira ticket writing, sprint ceremonies, and bridging the gap between the business and tech.

• Gathering, analysing, and documenting business and functional requirements.
• Writing user stories, use cases, and acceptance criteria in Jira.
• Business process mapping - identifying gaps and opportunities.
• Working across both Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies.
• Facilitating workshops and interviews with stakeholders at all levels.
• Supporting testing phases and contributing to roadmap planning.
• Building strong relationships across digital, product, operations, and IT.

Skills & Experience required:

• 3+ years of solid, hands-on BA experience - ideally in a digital or technology environment, though sector experience is secondary to the right approach.
• You'll need to be comfortable owning the requirements process end-to-end, confident with Jira, and capable of communicating clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Someone proactive and solutions-focused - someone who takes initiative and finds a way through problems rather than waiting to be told.
• This team moves quickly and values people who bring energy and ideas.
