Are you an experienced Credit Controller who enjoys working with systems, data and technology and is always looking for ways to work smarter?
I'm working with a growing business based in Shipley who are looking to appoint a Credit Analyst to join their finance team. This is a hands-on credit role, but with an additional focus on improving processes, using technology and exploring how AI and automation can make the credit function more efficient.
The Role
You'll take ownership of your own ledger and be responsible for the full credit control process, whilst also looking at how systems, AI and automation can improve the way the team operates.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing your own customer ledger and proactively chasing outstanding debt
- Contacting customers by telephone and email to secure payment
- Allocating cash and maintaining accurate customer account records
- Investigating and resolving invoice and payment queries
- Monitoring aged debt and identifying potential risks
- Building strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders
- Producing and analysing credit control reports
- Identifying manual, inefficient or repetitive processes within credit control
- Looking at how AI, automation and existing systems can be used to improve these processes
- Supporting the implementation and development of finance systems and tools
- Using Excel and other technology to improve reporting, workflows and efficiency
- Working with the wider finance team on continuous improvement projects
- Helping reduce manual administration and streamline the credit control function
About You
We're looking for an experienced Credit Controller who is also naturally curious about technology and enjoys finding better ways of doing things.
You'll ideally have:
- At least 3 years' strong Credit Control experience
- Experience managing your own ledger and dealing with outstanding debt
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Good Excel and finance systems knowledge
- A genuine interest in AI, automation and technology
- Experience of improving processes or finding more efficient ways of working
- A willingness to learn and introduce new systems and tools
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- The confidence to challenge existing processes and suggest improvements
You don't need to be an AI expert or have a background in technology. We're looking for someone who understands credit control inside out but also thinks beyond the traditional way of doing things.
