Data Engineer

Remote (UK-based) | Occasional travel to Kent | Outside IR35 | 3-Month Initial Contract

Elevation Tech & Transformation are supporting a UK-based organisation undergoing a wider IT and data recovery programme, and they’re looking to bring in an experienced Data Engineer on a short-term contract to stabilise and improve their current data environment.

This is a hands-on role focused on back-end data engineering, working with fragmented and inconsistent data sets to create structure, reliability, and improved data availability for reporting.

• Work with complex, inconsistent data sets to improve structure and usability
• Build and optimise data pipelines and transformations
• Support the development of a more scalable and reliable data environment
• Collaborate with a Solutions Architect and wider technical team
• Prepare data for downstream reporting (Power BI handled separately)

• Strong SQL skills (essential)
• Experience with Azure data environments (e.g. Data Factory, Azure SQL)
• Exposure to Databricks (highly desirable)
• Proven background in data engineering / ETL / ELT pipelines
• Experience working in fast-paced or underdeveloped data environments
• Ability to deliver impact quickly in a short-term contract role

• Initial 3-month contract
• Outside IR35 (initially)
• Remote-first, with occasional travel (approx. once per month)
• Immediate start preferred
