IT Security Analyst
IT Security Advisor
Location: Sheffield - Hybrid | Salary: Competitive + Excellent Benefits
Are you an experienced cyber security professional who enjoys balancing hands-on technical work with strategic security improvements?
Elevation Tech & Transformation are looking for an IT Security Advisor to play a key role in protecting and evolving the technology landscape across a diverse and growing organisation. This is an opportunity to take ownership of security operations while influencing the future direction of cyber security, infrastructure resilience and modern workplace technologies.
You'll work across a broad range of technologies, partnering with internal IT teams and external security specialists to strengthen security, reduce risk and ensure critical business systems remain secure, available and compliant.
What you'll be doing
This is a varied role where no two days are the same. You'll combine operational security with project delivery, helping to shape the organisation's security capability while remaining hands-on with technologies that make a real difference.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading the investigation and resolution of security incidents, working closely with internal teams and external security partners.
- Driving vulnerability management, ensuring security risks are identified, prioritised and remediated effectively.
- Managing and continually improving security technologies including endpoint protection, Microsoft 365 security, email security, Data Loss Prevention and user awareness programmes.
- Strengthening identity and access management across Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID and Intune.
- Supporting the secure operation of core infrastructure including servers, networking, cloud services and endpoint management.
- Playing an active role in infrastructure and security projects, helping embed security into new technologies from the outset.
- Developing security standards, documentation and best practice while supporting governance, compliance and business resilience.
- Providing technical guidance to colleagues across IT and mentoring the IT Security Analyst, helping develop capability across the wider team.
About you
You'll already have experience working in an IT Security, Cyber Security or Infrastructure Security role and enjoy taking ownership of security challenges whilst collaborating with colleagues across the business.
You'll likely have experience with several of the following:
- Microsoft security technologies including Defender, Entra ID, Intune and Microsoft 365 Security.
- Security Operations, Incident Response and Vulnerability Management.
- Identity & Access Management and privileged access controls.
- Endpoint security, device management and secure configuration.
- Windows Server, networking, cloud technologies and enterprise infrastructure.
- Security governance, risk management and security best practice.
- Working with third-party suppliers and managed security providers.
Most importantly, you'll be someone who enjoys improving processes, solving technical challenges and helping build a strong security culture.
Why join?
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a business where security is seen as a key business enabler rather than simply a compliance function. You'll have the opportunity to influence technical direction, work with modern Microsoft security technologies, contribute to long-term security strategy and play a visible role in protecting critical business services.
If you're looking for a role that combines technical depth, variety, ownership and genuine career development, we'd love to hear from you.
