Senior IT Technical Support Specialist Sheffield | £30,000 – £45,000 DOE | Permanent, Full-time

Elevation Tech & Transformation are recruiting on behalf of client based in Sheffield who are looking to recruit a Senior IT Support Specialist

This is a key opportunity for an experienced Senior IT Technical Support Specialist to join a growing organisation where technical excellence and customer service sit at the heart of the business.

The Role

Based at the Sheffield head office, you will act as a senior escalation point for complex technical issues, providing high-quality support across a broad range of systems and services. You will take full ownership of issues from initial diagnosis through to resolution, while also contributing to service improvement initiatives and supporting the wider technical team.

This role is ideal for someone with strong hands-on technical experience, a structured troubleshooting approach and a genuine passion for delivering a great customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced technical support, ensuring issues are resolved promptly and thoroughly
  • Act as an escalation point for 2nd and 3rd line issues, maintaining ownership through to resolution
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues across Microsoft 365, Windows Server, Azure, networking, endpoints and associated systems
  • Support client onboarding, configuration and deployment of systems and software
  • Monitor and maintain system performance and service reliability
  • Carry out regular health checks, patching reviews and service audits to proactively identify risks
  • Maintain accurate records of incidents, actions and resolutions within the case management system
  • Liaise with third-party vendors and suppliers, managing issues end-to-end
  • Keep up to date with new technologies and best practice, recommending improvements where appropriate

Essential Experience

  • Proven experience in a 2nd/3rd line support role within a multi-user or multi-environment setting (MPS)
  • Strong experience working with Microsoft 365 and Azure environments
  • Solid networking knowledge with strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent problem-solving ability with high attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to support non-technical users
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks independently while maintaining service quality

Desirable Skills

  • Backup and disaster recovery experience
  • Exposure to cloud-based telephony or unified communications
  • Experience supporting remote users and office networks
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and endpoint protection tools
  • Experience delivering user training or documentation
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems and structured service frameworks
  • Proactive mindset with a focus on prevention as well as resolution
