Elevation Recruitment Group are delighted to be partnering with a market-leading product manufacturer to recruit a Software Engineer for their growing Product Development team.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an innovative business at the forefront of smart technology and connected products. The role offers the chance to take ownership of software development projects while working across embedded software, electronics, firmware, hardware and cloud-based technologies to help bring new products to market.

This position would suit a hands-on Software Engineer who enjoys working in a varied environment and wants to play a key role in the full product development lifecycle, from concept and design through to testing, production and ongoing improvement.

• Develop and maintain software platforms, control systems and configuration tools
• Design, test and integrate sensor-based technologies into new and existing products
• Contribute to the development of smart, connected products and control solutions
• Support product testing, validation, technical documentation and product sign-off activities
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the product development process
• Investigate and resolve hardware and software issues across existing product ranges
• Work closely with suppliers and manufacturing partners on technical specifications and product requirements
• Support continuous improvement and innovation across software and electronic systems

We're keen to speak with Software Engineers who can demonstrate experience across embedded systems, firmware development and electronic product design.

You will ideally have:

• Strong programming experience in C and C++
• Experience developing software for ARM Cortex-based microcontrollers
• Knowledge of Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS), such as FreeRTOS
• Experience with cloud and backend technologies, including Python and/or Node.js
• Understanding of electronics and PCB design, including EMC and EMI considerations
• Experience working within a product development, electronics, lighting, automation or related engineering environment
• Familiarity with sensor technologies and embedded control systems
• Strong problem-solving skills with a practical, hands-on approach
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
