Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD)/Cloud Infrastructure Engineer - Public Sector

Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD)/Cloud Infrastructure Engineer - Public Sector Experienced Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) Engineer required for a high-profile Public Sector programme.

Strong Azure, Active Directory, Exchange, and troubleshooting skills essential, alongside experience with backup/DR and Intune.

6-month contract, likely to extend (Inside IR35), hybrid working in London.

Skills & Experience

Proven experience delivering Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) or VDI/DaaS platforms at scale

Strong expertise across the Microsoft Azure ecosystem

Solid understanding of hybrid identity (Active Directory + Microsoft Entra ID)

Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills across cloud, infrastructure, and end-user environments

Experience with Microsoft Exchange (Online or Hybrid) administration and support

Hands-on experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions (Azure Backup, Site Recovery or similar)

Experience with endpoint management using Microsoft Intune

Hands-on experience with Infrastructure-as-Code and automation (PowerShell, Terraform, Bicep, ARM) is helpful

Strong knowledge of Azure networking, security, and access governance

Experience working within ITIL-aligned service environments

You will design, deploy, and support Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments using Azure Virtual Desktop

Manage host pools, session hosts, image life cycle, and end-to-end deployment

Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across AVD, identity, messaging, and infrastructure layers Administer hybrid identity
