What you'll be doing
You'll become a key leader within the Infrastructure Engineering team, taking ownership of technical excellence, commercial success and the development of engineers across a diverse portfolio of complex infrastructure projects.
Working across sectors including rail and maritime, with opportunities to support highways, temporary works, geotechnics, aviation and water projects, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering innovative engineering solutions while helping to grow both the team and client base.
You'll:
- Lead multidisciplinary infrastructure projects from concept through to completion.
- Provide technical assurance and review complex engineering designs and calculations.
- Develop strong relationships with existing and new clients, becoming a trusted technical advisor.
- Lead bid submissions, fee proposals and work-winning activities.
- Oversee project programmes, budgets and commercial performance.
- Allocate resources across multiple projects to ensure successful delivery.
- Mentor and develop engineers, supporting their journey towards Chartered status.
- Drive quality, governance and compliance with UK standards, Eurocodes and CDM Regulations.
- Identify opportunities for innovation, continuous improvement and smarter project delivery.
- Contribute to the strategic growth of the Infrastructure Engineering team.

Requirements
Must Have
- Chartered Engineer (ICE or IStructE).
- Around 10+ years' experience within Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Strong infrastructure project experience within Rail and/or Maritime.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering projects.
- Proven technical design review and checking experience.
- Strong knowledge of Eurocodes and British Standards.
- Commercial awareness and experience managing project performance.
- Experience leading, mentoring and developing engineering teams.
- Working knowledge of CDM Regulations.
- Excellent client-facing and stakeholder management skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience within highways, temporary works, geotechnics, water or aviation sectors.
- Knowledge of structural analysis software such as Tekla Tedds, Tekla Structural Designer, MIDAS, Robot, LUSAS, Geo5 or similar.
- Experience supporting business development and winning new work.
- Experience with earned value management and project controls.
- Strong understanding of contract management and financial reporting.
