Security Design Engineer
Security Systems Design Engineer £60,000 + Hybrid Working London or Bath (or surrounding areas) We’re looking for a skilled and forward-thinking Senior Level Security Systems Design Engineer to join a leading consultancy that’s redefining the role of electronic security (CCTV, Access Control, Intruder Alarms etc) in the built environment. This is a hybrid working role, with flexibility to be based near London or Bath.This opportunity goes far beyond conventional security design. The team applies a holistic, risk-based approach to deliver robust and intelligent electronic security systems (CCTV, Access Control, Intruder Alarms etc) for complex, high-profile projects across a wide range of sectors including education, cultural venues, airports, stadia, commercial developments, mixed-use sites, and government buildings both in the UK and internationally.Whether you're coming from an engineering consultancy or a security integrator background, this role offers the chance to work at the front edge of the industry, influencing design outcomes and shaping how technology is integrated into some of the world’s most iconic buildings.Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate the design of electronic security systems (CCTV, Access Control, Intruder Alarms etc) across multidisciplinary project teams
- Prepare technical specifications, design documentation, and system schematics
- Work with industry-standard design tools such as AutoCAD, &/or Revit, and Navisworks
- Collaborate with related disciplines including Architecture, Electrical, IT, and Fire
- Contribute to internal R&D and help advance digital design processes
- Research and apply emerging technologies relevant to electronic security
- Drive integration, automation, and innovation within the design approach
- Proven experience in electronic security systems design, ideally within the built environment
- Background in consultancy or security integration welcomed
- Familiarity with systems such as CCTV, access control, and intrusion detection etc.
- Good working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, and other Autodesk tools
- Able to communicate complex technical ideas clearly and effectively
- Eligible for, or currently holding, UK security clearance
- A salary of up to £60,000, plus benefits
