Purpose of the role

You will contribute to the delivery of various full-time programmes which are developed in partnership with renowned institutions such as Canterbury Christ Church University, Bath Spa University, St Mary's University Twickenham London, and others.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

As an Associate Lecturer , you will play a fundamental role in delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences within your subject area. Your duties will include:

  • Providing high-quality teaching and learning across various programmes within a Higher Education setting, focusing on foundational aspects of your subject.
  • As associate lecturer you will also be required to go through training and shadowing of other lecturers
  • Collaborating with colleagues to contribute actively to the development and continual improvement of courses.
  • Participating in the creation of module-specific Scheme of Work and developing relevant module materials.
  • Delivering subject-specific sessions in alignment with learning outcomes and syllabuses.
  • Deploying assessments appropriately as outlined by the assessment team and providing timely formative feedback to students.
  • Ensuring compliance with Programme Specifications of respective Awarding Bodies and Universities.
  • Producing module/unit reports and contributing to the School’s Research Department. Demonstrating effective communication with students from diverse backgrounds.

As a Lecturer , your duties will include:

  • Provide high-quality teaching and learning across a range of programs within a Higher Education setting, particularly Foundation year.
  • Tutor students, offering appropriate support to enable them to achieve their goals and progress to positive destinations.
  • Contribute to the development and continual improvement of courses, coordinating effectively with both staff and students.
  • Contribute to the production of module/unit-specific Scheme of Work.
  • Develop module materials for each of the modules being undertaken.
  • Provide/Deliver/Facilitate subject-specific sessions in line with the Learning Outcomes and syllabuses of modules.
  • Deploy assessments appropriately as set out by the assessment team.
  • Set out measures to understand the learning needs of students on their modules.
  • Support students with timely formative feedback to the extent prescribed by each of the program specifications.
  • Mark and provide summative feedback within the prescribed deadline published by the Assessment Team.
  • Ensure that all expectations of the Programme Specification of respective Awarding Bodies and Universities under which modules are being taught.
  • Produce appropriate module/unit reports.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and appropriately with students from diverse background.

Skills And Qualifications

  • Master's degree and/or a PhD in the relevant area.
  • Previous lecturing experience for similar courses at HEI level.
  • Work in line with Blackboard / VLEs, MS Teams / Zoom.

Desirable

  • Experience working in the industry of your subject.
  • Teaching qualifications: PGCHE, MA in HE Practice, or FHEA, etc.
