Showroom Apprentice

This isn't just a job, it's a career.

You'll join the Elliotts Living Spaces team, helping customers plan their new kitchen, bathroom or interior project, from the first chat in the showroom right through to the finish.

You'll also spend time on our merchant side, so you'll learn how the whole business works, not just one part.

Role

Within your working day, you'll be working towards your Level 3 Apprenticeship with HTP Apprenticeship College whilst:

  • Welcoming customers to the showroom and being their first point of contact
  • Learning about our kitchens, bathrooms and interiors, and the products we sell
  • Talking to customers face to face, on the phone and by email
  • Helping put together quotes, order details and product information
  • Getting things ready for design appointments, like samples, brochures and notes
  • Following projects from first idea to finished room, and keeping customers updated along the way
  • Helping sort out any issues after fitting, so every project ends well
  • Keeping the showroom, displays and samples looking their best
  • Seeing how the showroom is run, from planning projects to working with suppliers and fitters
  • Finding out what makes a showroom successful, from looking after customers to making a profit
  • Spending time on the merchant side of the branch and with other teams across Elliotts.

Training

You will be undertaking the Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship Standard and fully supported by HTP Apprenticeship College.

You will be developing Knowledge, Skills, and Behaviours in the following areas:

  • IT
  • Record and Document Production
  • Decision Making
  • Interpersonal Skills
  • Quality Planning
  • Project Management
  • Business Processes

As part of the off-the-job training, you will complete a portfolio of evidence, attend online workshops, have time to study independently, undertake research and write assignments.

The apprenticeship is assessed independently at the end of the practical training. The assessments include an online multiple-choice test, a business project and presentation and a professional discussion based on a portfolio of evidence.

Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, there may be the opportunity for a permanent role.

Many people who start in admin go on to build careers in areas like:

  • Office management

If you’re motivated, curious, and ready to learn, we’ll help you grow.

About the Employer

Elliotts Living Spaces
Elliotts is a family owned builders' merchant. We've been serving customers across the South of England since 1842. Today the business is led by Tom, the great-great-great grandson of our founder. Elliotts Living Spaces is our kitchens, bathrooms and interiors team. We help homeowners and trade customers create rooms they love. Being family owned means we think long term, and that includes our people. We'd much rather grow our own talent than look outside every time a role comes up. Lots of our team have been with us for years, and many have worked their way up. We keep things simple. We know our customers, work safely, deliver what we promise and look out for each other. Decisions are made in our branches, by the people closest to the customer.
