EmbedSecure Ltd is a newly established fintech company building embedded crypto exchange infrastructure focused on enabling regulated conversion between stablecoins and fiat currencies.
Our technology integrates directly into financial institution platforms, wallets, and payment environments to provide compliant crypto-to-fiat functionality. The company is currently preparing for UK FCA registration under the Money Laundering Regulations and is building a regulatory-first governance and compliance framework from day one.

THE ROLE
We are seeking an experienced Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) who will also act as a Director of the company. This role would be a consultant / advisor and not employment.
This is a senior governance role responsible for establishing and overseeing the firm's financial crime and AML framework as the business progresses through its regulatory preparation phase.
The role is part-time consultancy / advisor position (up to 10 hours per month) during the early stages of the business and is therefore suited to a candidate who holds other professional commitments, provided these do not create conflicts of interest.
The successful candidate will work closely with the founders and external advisors to support the company's regulatory readiness and governance framework.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directorship & Governance
- Serve as a Director of EmbedSecure Ltd and contribute to board-level oversight and governance.
- Support the development of a strong compliance and risk culture within the organisation.
Financial Crime & AML Oversight
- Establish and maintain the firm's AML / financial crime compliance framework.
- Maintain the company’s Financial Crime Risk Assessment and AML policies.
- Oversee transaction monitoring arrangements and suspicious activity reporting processes.
- Submit Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) to the National Crime Agency where required.
Regulatory Readiness
- Support the company’s preparation for FCA registration under the UK Money Laundering Regulations.
- Work with external advisors on regulatory submissions and compliance documentation.
Third-Party Oversight
- Maintain oversight of outsourced compliance providers including:
- KYC / identity verification providers
- blockchain analytics providers
- compliance technology vendors.
Board Reporting
- Provide periodic updates to the Board on:
- financial crime risk exposure
- AML control effectiveness
- regulatory developments.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
Essential Skills & Experience
- Experience working in AML / financial crime compliance within regulated financial services, fintech, payments, or cryptoasset businesses.
- Strong knowledge of the UK Money Laundering Regulations 2017, FCA expectations, and AML frameworks.
- Experience acting as MLRO, Deputy MLRO, Head of Financial Crime, or similar senior compliance role.
- Ability to operate independently in a senior governance role.
- Strong understanding of financial crime risks in digital assets or fintech environments.
- Professional certifications such as ICA Diploma in AML, ACAMS, or similar.
Essential Regulatory Requirements
- Must be based in and resident within the United Kingdom.
- Must be eligible to act as a Company Director under UK Companies House rules.
Preferred
- Experience working with cryptoasset exchanges, digital asset infrastructure, or blockchain analytics tools.
TIME COMMITMENT
- Up to 10 hours per month initially
- Flexible engagement model suitable for professionals with other roles or advisory commitments
- Occasional participation in board meetings and regulatory discussions

Due to the company's regulatory preparation timeline, candidates must be immediately available or able to commence within the next two weeks.
