Location: Hybrid – Bath (onsite required)
Security Clearance: Active UK Security Clearance required
We are supporting the search for an experienced Dental Solution Architect to lead the design of secure, resilient dental IT solutions operating in complex and often disconnected or low-connectivity environments.
This role will focus on translating clinical and operational requirements into scalable technical architectures that support deployable, mobile, or remote dental services within a regulated defence environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead solution architecture for dental platforms across disconnected or intermittently connected environments.
- Design architectures covering practice management systems, dental imaging, clinical workflows, and data synchronisation.
- Define offline-first and edge architecture patterns including local data stores, store-and-forward models, and sync strategies.
- Produce architectural documentation including high/low-level designs, data flows, security models, and integration patterns.
- Support procurement activities, including technical requirements, vendor evaluation and market analysis.
- Provide architectural governance and guide delivery teams through Alpha/MVP and testing environments.
Required Experience
- Proven experience as a Solution Architect or similar senior technical role.
- Strong background in dental IT systems (Dental PMS/EHR, imaging, clinical workflows).
- Experience designing offline-first, edge or low-bandwidth solutions.
- Understanding of secure system design within UK defence or regulated environments.
- Strong data architecture knowledge and stakeholder communication skills.
Desirable
- Experience supporting military or government healthcare programmes.
- Knowledge of NHS systems or interoperability standards (FHIR, HL7, DICOM).
- Experience with security architecture (Zero Trust, encryption, identity federation).
Hybrid role based in Bath – candidates must hold active UK Security Clearance.
