Resident Juniper Resource Engineer
Location: Milan, Italy
Schedule: Rotational Shift (Games-time operations)
Department: Technology Operations Center (TOC)
Key Responsibilities
1. End-to-End Trouble Ticket Resolution
- Act as the primary interface between customers and L2/L3 support teams.
- Monitor ticket queues to ensure SLA compliance.
- Perform initial triage based on customer input and assign cases to the appropriate support domain.
- Drive resolution of tickets by coordinating with technical teams and ensuring timely closure.
2. Operational Excellence
- Provide expert guidance and hands-on support to maintain network stability, performance, and security during high-profile event operations.
- Support real-time operations and proactively mitigate risks to service continuity.
3. Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with venue managers, engineering teams, service providers, and event leadership.
- Align network designs and deployments with event timelines and evolving requirements.
4. Issue Resolution
- Respond to complex network incidents with rapid diagnosis and resolution.
- Protect critical services through proactive monitoring and escalation.
5. Documentation & Handover
- Develop and maintain detailed documentation, implementation guides, and operational runbooks.
- Ensure smooth handover to operations teams for ongoing support.
6. Continuous Improvement
- Identify and implement improvements in network design and operational processes.
- Leverage lessons learned from previous large-scale event deployments.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in telecom operations delivery, preferably in high-availability or large-scale environments.
- Proven expertise in designing and implementing Core & Edge networks, SD-WAN, LAN/WLAN, and security solutions.
- Strong understanding of network monitoring, incident management, and operational support.
- Demonstrated ability to lead multi-vendor and cross-functional teams under time-critical conditions.
- Excellent communication skills for interfacing with technical teams and senior stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting international events (e.g., sports, entertainment).
- Industry certifications such as Cisco CCIE, Juniper JNCIP/JNCIE.
- Familiarity with Olympic Games technology delivery models and operational constraints.
- Experience with ServiceNow or similar ITSM platforms.
Technical Competencies
- Deep knowledge of troubleshooting Core & Edge network architectures, WiFi technologies, and security integration.
- Proficiency in network monitoring and management tools.
- Ability to create and interpret network diagrams, documentation, and operational playbooks.
