Location: Hybrid – London / Camberley / Brighton

Salary: £56,000 + Bonus + Benefits

Car + Drivers License required as travel between the offices needed from time to time

Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a commercially minded IT Presales Consultant to join a growing Managed Service Provider supporting SMB customers across the South region.

This is a customer-facing presales role focused on understanding customer requirements, shaping high-level technical solutions, and supporting the sales process from discovery through to proposal and handover.

Working closely with Sales, Account Management, Engineering, Consultancy, Security, and Delivery teams, you will help design practical and commercially aligned solutions across Microsoft 365, Cloud, Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, and Managed Services.

The successful candidate will act as the bridge between technical delivery teams and customer-facing commercial teams, ensuring proposed solutions are achievable, scalable, and aligned to customer business objectives.

This role is ideally suited to someone with a strong technical background within an MSP or IT Services environment who is looking to further develop a career within presales, consultancy, or customer-facing technical solution design.

This is not a hands-on implementation role. The focus is on customer engagement, high-level solution design, technical consultancy, and supporting successful customer outcomes.

The role is hybrid and will require occasional travel to customer sites and regional offices where required.

Key Responsibilities

Presales & Customer Engagement

  • Support Sales and Commercial teams on SMB customer opportunities across the South region
  • Attend customer meetings to understand business challenges, technical requirements, and strategic objectives
  • Lead customer discovery sessions, workshops, and high-level technical discussions
  • Translate customer requirements into practical, scalable, and commercially viable solution proposals
  • Present technical solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Build trusted customer relationships and provide strategic technology guidance where appropriate
  • Support customer conversations around cloud adoption, modern workplace, infrastructure upgrades, cybersecurity, and managed services

Solution Consultancy & Design

  • Produce high-level solution designs across Microsoft 365, Azure, Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, and Managed Services
  • Scope customer requirements for migration, transformation, and infrastructure refresh projects
  • Work collaboratively with Engineering and Delivery teams to validate proposed solutions
  • Ensure solutions align with internal service capabilities, operational standards, and best practice
  • Focus on supportable, standardised, and commercially aligned solution design
  • Collaborate with specialist technical and security teams on more advanced customer requirements where needed

Documentation & Handover

  • Produce scopes of work, technical proposals, and supporting solution documentation
  • Support pricing discussions and technical elements of customer proposals
  • Ensure smooth handover into project delivery and managed service onboarding teams
  • Contribute to the improvement and standardisation of presales processes, templates, and solution offerings
  • Maintain clear communication between commercial and technical teams throughout the sales lifecycle

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience within an MSP, IT Services, or Technical Consultancy environment
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft 365, Azure, Infrastructure, and Managed Services
  • Experience in a Presales, Consultancy, Technical Account Management, or Senior Technical Support/Engineering role
  • Strong customer-facing communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Commercial awareness with the ability to align technical solutions to customer business needs
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple customer opportunities
  • A proactive and collaborative approach with a desire to continue developing technical and commercial skills
  • Microsoft certifications or relevant technical accreditations would be advantageous
