The Role: Backend Developer

We're looking for a Backend Developer to join us at an exciting early stage. You'll play a critical role in helping us scale our systems and support a growing customer base.

Our current tech foundation is strong-we have experienced engineers who know how to build reliable systems the right way. We're now looking for someone excited to get hands-on, build new features, and take ownership of key parts of our backend infrastructure.

This isn't just another software job-you'll be helping redefine what modern infrastructure looks like for an industry that has been overlooked by tech for years.

Technical challenges you'll work on include:

Building scalable backend features to support AI-powered workflows

Creating data pipelines and APIs to connect legacy software systems to modern insights

Optimizing database design, indexing, and query performance for speed and scale

Improving developer productivity and reliability with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and monitoring

You'll work closely with an experienced staff engineer and collaborate directly with the founding team to develop our AI systems end-to-end. Both founders have deep expertise in AI, and we're passionate about building systems that are trustworthy and scalable.

About You

You love building and prototyping-personal projects or experiments are a plus

You have 2+ years of experience building backend systems, ideally in fast-paced environments

Strong Python skills (our primary backend language)

Comfortable in dynamic, fast-moving teams where requirements can evolve

Excited about working with LLMs and at the intersection of AI and real-world impact

No prior industry-specific knowledge required-we'll bring you up to speed

Key Tech Stack:

Must have: Python, REST APIs

Nice to have: PostgreSQL, GCP or AWS, SQLModel / Pydantic / FastAPI / Alembic, Terraform, Docker, GitHub Actions
