Repair Technician | Edinburgh | 37.5 per week | Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm | £21,000 and £28,000 dependant on experience

You'll be at the forefront of the repair process and your role will involve diagnosing hardware and software issues, replacing or upgrading hardware components, performing component-level repairs, and the ability to utilise micro-soldering techniques to restore devices like laptops, mobile phones, gaming consoles, tablets, and other electronic consumer products.

Are you the right person for the job?

  • Proven experience as a Repair Technician specialising in electronic devices and motherboards.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing hardware issues to component level for various electronic devices, including laptops, mobile phones, gaming consoles, tablets, and various electronic consumer products.
  • Strong soldering skills, including micro-soldering techniques, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Familiarity with a wide range of testing equipment and diagnostic tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a meticulous approach to repair tasks.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication skills and a customer-centric mindset.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification or formal training in electronics repair or a related field
  • Extensive experience working with a diverse range of computers, laptops and electronic consumer products, including tablets and mobile phones
  • Knowledge of software troubleshooting and firmware updates
  • Knowledge of Windows, Android and IOS
  • Prior experience in a similar customer service or technical support role

What will your role look like?

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with a variety of devices including PC’s, laptops, mobile phones, gaming consoles, tablets, and other electronic consumer products
  • Perform component-level repairs, utilising micro-soldering techniques and replacing faulty parts as needed
  • Utilise testing equipment and diagnostic tools to identify root causes of malfunctions accurately and follow motherboard schematics where applicable
  • Maintain meticulous records of repairs performed and parts used in our CRM to ensure transparency and accountability
  • Stay updated on industry trends and technological advancements in electronic repair to continuously enhance skills and knowledge
