Senior Technical Account Architect – Life Sciences Data & AI

[London / Manchester/ Remote)

My client is looking for a Senior Technical Account Architect to be the key technical partner for their strategic pharma and biotech customers.

You’ll sit at the intersection of science, data, and commercial teams , helping R&D organisations design and scale data & AI solutions that actually get used – and deliver measurable value.

What You’ll Do

  • Act as the primary technical point of contact for strategic Life Sciences accounts
  • Understand each customer’s scientific data, AI architecture, and roadmap
  • Translate business goals into scalable technical architectures and implementation plans
  • Lead lifecycle engagement from presales through delivery and ongoing optimisation
  • Run technical reviews , spot risks early, and recommend improvements
  • Support expansions, POCs, and co-innovation with Sales and Product
  • Deliver tailored demos and enablement sessions to scientists, R&D IT, and leadership
  • Work with partners such as Databricks, AWS, Google Cloud, Azure to maximise value

What You Bring

Background

  • Scientific background and 5+ years’ experience in Life Sciences (pharma, biotech, CRO, etc.)
  • 5+ years as a Senior Technical / Solutions / Data Architect/ Field Applications Specialist
  • Experience with R&D IT, Data & Informatics , or scientific data platforms
  • Proven customer-facing / sales engineering / technical account experience

Technical

  • Strong data modelling (logical, physical, conceptual)
  • Python and cloud databases: Snowflake , Redshift, Databricks, NoSQL
  • Big data / lakehouse tools (e.g. Spark)
  • Cloud : AWS (data services), plus Azure / GCP exposure
  • Data governance & quality (lineage, metadata, data quality processes)
  • Analytics & BI : Tableau, Power BI, QlikView and their backend needs

Commercial & Soft Skills

  • Comfortable with senior scientific and technical stakeholders
  • Strong at solution mapping , value/ROI framing, and negotiation
  • Clear communicator, confident presenter, strong relationship builder
