Life400 Developer - Contract

My Financial Services client is seeking an experienced AS400 Developer with strong Life400 experience to join a delivery-focused technology team, working across the full software development life cycle on robust, business-critical applications for a long-term Daily Rate Contract

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and support AS400/Life400 applications across the full SDLC

• Analyse complex business and technical requirements and deliver effective solutions

• Resolve production issues and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

• Produce required SDLC artefacts and participate in code reviews, QA and UAT

• Collaborate with solution architects, product owners, project managers and developers

• Work closely with business users and test teams to validate new functionality

• Interpret and analyse data to identify trends and support optimal technical solutions

Essential Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as an AS400/IBM i Developer with Life400

• Strong proficiency in AS400 SQL, Cobol and Smart

• Experience working on Life400 policy administration systems

• Solid understanding of software development life cycles (Agile, Hybrid or Waterfall)

• Strong problem-solving capability and ability to work independently

• Excellent communication skills and stakeholder engagement experience

Desirable Experience

• Background in Life & Pensions, Financial Services or Insurance

• Experience producing technical specifications

• Knowledge of change management principles

• Ability to deliver under tight project timelines

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, IT or a related discipline (desirable)

This is an excellent role with a top FS client paying excellent daily rates for the right candidate. Please note travel to the Republic of Ireland is a pre-requisite for this role.
