Portfolio Manager

Equifind are supporting a high-growth VC fund based in Soho as they look to hire a Portfolio Manager.

Founded in the early 2000s, the firm backs some of the UK’s most innovative tech start-ups, working closely with founders as they scale and grow their businesses.

This role will focus on monitoring the financial and operational performance of portfolio companies, supporting founders from a strategic and commercial perspective, and helping drive value creation across the portfolio. You’ll also work closely with the investment team around ongoing fund activity, including follow-on investments and supporting the eventual exits as the fund moves through the later stages of its lifecycle.

This is a high-visibility, high-impact role with the chance to influence some genuinely exciting businesses in their respective markets, while remaining close to the transactional side of things and the technical and legal work that underpins it.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with portfolio company leadership on fundraising, financial planning, and operational improvements.
  • Monitor financial performance, key metrics, and milestones of portfolio companies. Provide ongoing support to management teams.
  • Analyse financial statements, cash flows, and business performance; prepare internal reports for the investment team and LPs.
  • Identify potential risks within the portfolio and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Assist in optimising capital allocation, implementing growth strategies, and leveraging the firm’s network for business development.
  • Support quarterly reporting, LP communications, and investor updates.
  • Collaborate with the investment team on due diligence, market research, and post-investment monitoring.

Package Includes:

  • Base salary of £100-120,000.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • ACA or CFA qualified.
  • 5-7 years of experience in corporate finance, investment banking, private equity, or venture capital.
  • Strong financial modelling, valuation, and analytical skills.
  • Deep understanding of startup financials, cap tables, and growth metrics.
  • Ability to work closely with founders and executive teams, providing strategic financial insights.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Passion for startups, innovation, and venture capital investing.
