An exciting opportunity has arisen for a hands-on Medical Devices Engineer to join our dedicated team at Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (EPUT) as we embark on a transformative journey to implement a unified Electronic Patient Record (EPR) system across Essex.As part of the EPR programme, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe, effective, and reliable integration of medical devices into our digital health ecosystem. This is a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of modernising healthcare delivery, working across multidisciplinary teams in a role that directly impacts patient care. We're looking for someone with a strong technical background in medical devices, ideally with experience in hospital-based device management or connectivity projects.

An integral element of the role, will be your flexibility to work across a multitude of different sites across Essex and into parts of Bedfordshire. In addition, there will be a requirement to join both virtual and face to face meetings and deliver updates when required.

Main duties of the job

Information Resources - Dissemination of knowledge, taking full responsibility for technical accuracy and reliability and being sensitive to the wider implications of that dissemination.

Job responsibilities

Conduct site-wide audits and mapping of existing medical device connectivity. Collaborate with clinical, IT, and EPR programme teams to ensure successful integration. Support data migration, interface configuration, and troubleshooting. Ensure compliance with NHS policies, clinical safety standards, and information governance protocols

Policy and Service Development - Proactively and positively contribute to the achievement of deliverables through individual and team effort.

Maintain and continuously improve specialist knowledge in an aspect of Health Service which significantly contributes to the Trusts stated objectives & aims. Undertake evidence-based practice for either developments relating to Trust work or opportunities for Trust involvement around health issues.

Qualifications

Essential
  • Degree Level Electronics or equivalent experience in General electronics
  • Manufacturer training courses
Desirable
  • Member of Register of Clinical Technologists

  • Ability to work with technical manuals and schematic diagrams
