Product Engineer
Product engineers who ships
We're working with a team of about 30 people who are building the communication layer for the next generation of B2B giants (the likes of Vercel, Cursor, and Granola already live in here).
They are profitable, Series A, and have zero PMs. That’s not a typo, engineers here own the product roadmap, the edge cases, and the final "vibe" of what they ship. More than 50% of the team are devs.
They are effectively building a high-performance workspace that unifies Slack, Discord, and Email into a single, lightning-fast interface. If you think the current state of business communication is bloated and slow, this is the team fixing it.
Example projects you would work on:
- Build a Headless Support Portal: Design and ship a React SDK that allows developers to embed a high-performance communication interface directly into their own SaaS apps with 5 lines of code.
- Ship an AI "Auto-Drafter": Integrate LLMs to analyze historical Slack and Discord threads to generate context-aware internal summaries for engineers.
- Scale the Ingestion Engine: Optimize the pipeline that pulls in millions of real-time events from third-party APIs without dropping a single websocket connection.
- Architect Multi-Channel Threading: Solve the technical nightmare of syncing a single conversation across Email, Slack, and an in-app chat widget while keeping state perfectly consistent.
Why you’d join them
- Zero Bureaucracy: No "Project Managers" or "Scrum Masters." You talk to the founders, you talk to the customers, and then you write the code.
- High-Leverage Tools: You’re building for other developers and technical teams. The bar for quality and speed is incredibly high.
- Real Ownership: You aren't "owning a feature"; you're owning a problem. You decide how it’s solved and how it’s measured.
- Equity Upside: They are at that sweet spot—proven product-market fit with top-tier logos, but small enough that your equity actually matters.
- The Stack: Modern, clean, and fast. Node.js, React, Postgres, and GCP.
Who you they:
You’re probably a bit "weird" in your obsession with UX details. You hate slow software. You’ve likely built your own side projects because you couldn't find a tool that worked the way you wanted. You’re a generalist who can dive into a Postgres index optimization just as easily as you can tweak a CSS transition.
The Interview Process (Fast & Transparent):
They don't do "brain teasers." They want to see how you build.
- Intro Chat (30 mins): Meet an engineer, talk about what you’ve built, see if there's a spark.
- Technical Deep Dive: A look into your technical reasoning and how you approach systems.
- The "Work" Session: An async or collaborative project (we value your time—this is about real-world building).
- Founder Meet: Final vibe check on vision and culture.
- Offer: Total timeline is usually under 2 weeks.
The Logistics:
- Location: London (Hybrid - 3 days in) or Remote (UK/Europe).
- Pay: £75k–£130k (flexibility for the right person) + generous, founder-level equity.
- Perks: 35 days holiday, private health, £1k WFH setup, and global offsites that don't suck.
