We are looking for an experienced Solution Architect to join a major infrastructure, resilience and technology uplift programme within a large-scale enterprise environment.

Sitting across several strategic workstreams, you will provide the architectural glue between infrastructure tooling, backup and business continuity/disaster recovery initiatives. This is a broad infrastructure architecture role rather than a narrow technology SME position, requiring someone comfortable working across complex and imperfectly documented estates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide solution architecture across multiple infrastructure and resilience programmes, including infrastructure tooling, backup/recovery and BCDR

  • Assess solutions at an ecosystem and service level, considering dependencies across compute, storage, network, DNS, NTP, authentication and application infrastructure

  • Support the assessment of existing services and their resilience, recoverability and criticality

  • Help define and validate RTO/RPO, service criticality, recovery dependencies and resilience requirements

  • Feed architectural findings into a wider BCDR framework and service-tiering model

  • Review current-state architecture and identify technical dependencies, risks, gaps and remediation requirements

  • Work across a large, complex infrastructure estate where current-state documentation and asset information may be incomplete

  • Support adjacent infrastructure and transformation initiatives as priorities evolve

  • Work closely with Technical Delivery Managers, engineering teams, third parties and senior technology stakeholders

  • Produce clear architecture designs, recommendations and supporting documentation

  • Ensure solutions consider operational supportability and recoverability alongside functional requirements

Required Experience:

We are particularly interested in candidates with:

  • Strong experience as a Solution Architect, Infrastructure Architect or Technical Architect within large enterprise environments

  • Broad infrastructure knowledge spanning several of:

    • Compute/server infrastructure

    • Storage

    • Networking

    • Backup and recovery

    • Disaster recovery/BCDR

    • DNS/NTP

    • Identity and authentication

    • Infrastructure management and monitoring tooling

    • Application and service resilience

  • Experience working on infrastructure transformation, resilience, remediation or technology uplift programmes

  • Strong understanding of technical dependencies across complex enterprise services

  • Experience assessing existing environments and translating findings into pragmatic architectural recommendations

  • Ability to operate independently and work effectively where documentation or current-state information is incomplete

  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to work directly with technical SMEs, delivery teams and programme leadership
