Senior Network Automation Engineer

SC Cleared | Manchester (2-3 days per week) | Inside IR35 | Initial Contract

Circa £600 p/d (umbrella/inside IR35)

This is an opportunity to help shape the future of network automation within a large-scale government environment, driving automation-first engineering practices across hybrid cloud and on-premise infrastructure.

You'll play a key role in modernising network services, improving reliability and operational efficiency, and reducing manual effort through Infrastructure as Code and NetDevOps principles.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop network automation solutions across hybrid cloud environments
• Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code and Configuration as Code
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure delivery
• Automate operational and low-value manual tasks
• Design secure, resilient network connectivity across AWS, Azure and OCI
• Support and enhance network services throughout the service life cycle
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives and reliability engineering
• Work across Agile, ITIL and project delivery environments
• Mentor engineers and promote automation best practice across multidisciplinary teams

Essential Skills

• Strong Network Automation/NetDevOps experience
• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible or similar)
• Configuration as Code
• CI/CD pipeline implementation and support
• Linux, Unix and Windows administration
• Python, Bash or PowerShell Scripting
• Hybrid Cloud networking (AWS, Azure and ideally OCI)
• Agile delivery experience
• Experience mentoring technical teams
