CPU RTL Design Engineer

We are partnered with a leading semicon and wireless company who are hiring talented engineers to work on CPU micro-architecture and RTL development for high-performance, low-power processors.

This role requires 5 days per week onsite in Cambridge.

What You’ll Do

  • Explore and evaluate high-performance CPU strategies in collaboration with the CPU modelling team
  • Contribute to micro-architecture development, from early architectural exploration and research through to detailed specifications
  • Own and develop RTL designs, refining them to meet power, performance, area, and timing goals
  • Support functional verification by working with the design verification team to execute verification strategies
  • Support performance verification to ensure designs meet architectural and product performance targets
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver designs through implementation and physical validation, addressing timing, area, power, reliability, and testability requirements

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience with Verilog and/or VHDL, including use of simulators and waveform debugging tools
  • Solid understanding of logic design principles and their impact on timing, power, and performance
  • Familiarity with low-power micro-architectural techniques
  • Understanding of high-performance CPU design trade-offs
  • Experience using scripting languages such as Python or Perl
