Software Delivery Manager

Project Delivery Manager | Software implementation | 6 month Contract | SaaS

A global leader in SaaS estimation solutions is looking for a seasoned Software Delivery Manager to join their Manchester-based team. The company provides sophisticated cost and carbon estimating platforms to major governmental and industrial organisations.

They are currently embarking on a fresh implementation project for a new client. This is a high-visibility role that requires someone who can hit the ground running within the next two weeks to lead a focused development cycle.

The Role

This is a technical delivery position. Unlike a generalist Project Manager, you will be expected to get "under the hood" of the software development lifecycle. You will be the bridge between senior stakeholders and the technical execution team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Technical Liaison: Interacting daily with a dedicated development team in India to work through development tickets and technical roadblocks.
  • Quality Assurance: Taking ownership of regression testing and the stabilisation of environments to ensure a seamless delivery.
  • Stakeholder Management: Acting as the primary point of contact for the end-client’s project team (managed by Capgemini). You will need to hold your own with highly technical, "clued-up" counterparts.
  • Accountability: Reporting directly to the CTO, providing honest updates on progress, risks, and mitigation strategies.

The Person

This role requires a "mature" professional—someone with 10-15 years of experience who can hold senior leadership accountable while remaining delivery-focused.

To be successful, you must have:

  • A proven track record in Software Development Project Management. (Note: This is not a general business change role; you must have experience working directly with developers and code-heavy projects).
  • Experience managing offshore development teams (ideally in India) and navigating the nuances of remote ticket management.
  • Comfort with technical environments, specifically stabilising software releases and overseeing testing cycles.
  • The ability to manage complex relationships, specifically working alongside external consultancy teams (e.g., Big Four or similar).

Offer & Duration

  • Format: 6-month initial contract with a strong view toward a permanent move.
  • Location: Manchester-based with a hybrid working model.
