Infrastructure Engineer (Azure)

Infrastructure Engineer (Azure) Manchester / Hybrid working We are working with a Global Professional Services client as they look to add to their Global Infrastructure Team with the appointment of an Infrastructure Engineer to complement their Manchester team. Spanning Europe, Asia, America and the Middle East they have a workforce of more than 5,500 and continually invest in their Technology function. You are joining them as they continue their cloud journey Globally. With a multibillion-dollar revenue they continually invest in tools and technology to improve the way in which they work. You will work with both on prem and cloud infrastructure and design, implement and manage solutions as part of your role.Some key responsibilities will include:
  • Collaborating with technical architects and development teams to translate business requirements into scalable, secure, and resilient Azure systems
  • Design, provision, and maintain core Azure infrastructure components (VNETs, subnets, VNET peering, NAT Gateways, Virtual Machine Scale Sets, Azure App Services, Azure Functions, and Azure Container Apps)
  • Configuring and managing networking services (ie Azure Load Balancer, Application Gateway, Traffic Manager, and Azure Front Door)
  • Implementing and managing advanced identity protection features
  • Automating infrastructure processes using scripting and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools
  • Performing Windows Server and RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration
Key skills and experience required:
  • You must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience working with Azure cloud services with experience of automation tools such as Terraform, ARM Templates, or Ansible
  • Experience in running and managing containers for production workloads - preferably with Kubernetes and be familiar with managing CI/CD pipelines
  • You will have at least 7 years’ experience in system administration, managing virtual environments and Windows Server or RedHat Enterprise Linux operating
  • Expertise in the VMware Cloud Foundation suite
  • You will hold professionally recognised cloud and on prem certifications
Hybrid working is offered. There is a requirement to be onsite 3 days a week and so you MUST live within east commute of central Manchester.
