IT Project Manager - 6 Month FTC
IT Project Manager – 6–12 Month FTC
Location: Surbiton - hybrid
Salary: Up to £65,000
Contract: 6–12 Month Fixed-Term Contract
We are looking for an experienced IT Project Manager to lead the delivery of business systems and technology-enabled change across a wider transformation programme.
The immediate priority will be supporting an in-flight HR systems implementation, so we need someone who is comfortable taking ownership of complex projects already in delivery and driving them through testing, cutover, go-live and transition into BAU.
This is a hands-on Project Manager role, but it also has significant exposure to senior leadership. The successful candidate must be comfortable presenting project status, risks, dependencies and recommendations to senior stakeholders and governance forums.
Responsibilities
Own end-to-end delivery of business systems and SaaS implementation projects.
Manage detailed project plans, milestones, budgets, resources, risks, issues and dependencies.
Coordinate internal business teams, IT, SMEs, third-party suppliers and implementation partners.
Manage testing, UAT, data migration, operational readiness, cutover, go-live and hypercare activities.
Produce clear project reporting, RAID logs, governance packs, status updates and decision papers.
Present project progress, risks and recommendations to senior leadership and governance groups.
Manage Statements of Work, supplier deliverables and third-party dependencies.
Identify delivery risks early and drive clear actions through to resolution.
Ensure new systems and processes transition successfully into BAU.
Support improvements to project delivery processes, governance and reporting.
Experience required
Strong experience as an IT Project Manager delivering business systems, SaaS or enterprise application implementations.
Personally managed projects through the full lifecycle from planning and mobilisation through testing, cutover, go-live and BAU handover.
Strong supplier and third-party implementation partner management experience.
Demonstrable experience managing budgets, resources, RAID, dependencies and project governance.
Experience working across both business and technology teams.
Confident communicating with senior stakeholders, including Directors, executives and steering committees.
Able to present complex project information clearly, challenge constructively and communicate difficult messages when required.
Comfortable working in both Agile and Waterfall environments.
Experience delivering multiple workstreams within a broader transformation programme.
Desirable Experience
HRIS, HCM, HR or Payroll system implementation experience.
Experience with platforms such as Dayforce, Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle HCM, iTrent or similar.
PRINCE2, PMP or equivalent Project Management certification.
Experience delivering transformation within a medium-sized organisation.
The role is best suited to a hands-on Project Manager who is equally comfortable managing the detail of delivery and representing the project confidently with senior leadership.
