Windows Engineer – Contract - Hybrid (2 days onsite in Leeds).
This is an initial 3 month contract, paying £500 per day, inside IR35, 2 days a week onsite in central Leeds.

This is an initial 3 month contract, paying £500 per day, inside IR35, 2 days a week onsite in central Leeds.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and support Windows Server environments from 2012 to 2025
- Build, configure and maintain VMware and VCF based infrastructure
- Administer Azure services with a focus on identity, compute and automation
- Use PowerShell to automate routine tasks, create scripts, and improve operational efficiency
- Oversee patching cycles, WSUS administration and vulnerability remediation
- Create and manage Group Policies
- Complete new server builds including configuration, testing and documentation
- Implement Windows hardening standards to strengthen security posture
- Maintain clear technical documentation for builds, processes and operational tasks
- Support configuration management using Chef or Ansible where required
- Strong background in Windows Server engineering
- Experience working in large or complex server environments
- Confident with VMware, VCF and Azure services
- Skilled in PowerShell scripting and automation
- Good understanding of patching, WSUS, compliance and security standards
- Able to create and manage GPOs and follow structured build processes
- Comfortable working with infrastructure hardening and best practice frameworks
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of technical domains
