Excelerate Technology is a leading provider of advanced technology and communications solutions to emergency services, government agencies, and critical infrastructure sectors. We are seeking a Product Build Engineer to join our dynamic and growing team.

This is a practical, hands-on role ideal for someone with a background in electronics, IT hardware, or auto-electrics, who enjoys assembling, configuring, and testing high-tech products in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for the assembly, configuration, and testing of our portable and rack-mounted technology solutions. This includes:

• Building and testing portable and rack-mounted products running Linux-based OS and firmware
• Assembling mechanical components using hand tools and securing electrical wiring
• Installing and configuring software, firmware, and network settings (IPv4)
• Following and maintaining in-house assembly, test, and safety procedures
• Soldering components and connectors, including basic PCB soldering (non-SMD)
• PAT and quality control testing to ensure safety and compliance
• Supporting internal installation and product teams with technical assistance and training
• Contributing to process improvements and new product introductions

You’ll Need

Essential:

• Experience following technical build and testing documentation
• Assembly from a base build to a fully wired, configured, and tested, customer-ready product
• Proficiency with 12/24 VDC systems and 240 VAC cabling
• Basic understanding of IP networking
• Experience configuring OS, software, or firmware via GUI and terminal
• Cable crimping skills, including network cable creation
• Understanding of electronic components and soldering techniques
• Knowledge of earthing and safe power cabling practices
• Experience in quality control processes
• Ability to update documents in MS Office

Desirable:

• 3+ years’ technical experience in electronics, auto-electrics, or IT hardware builds
• Experience with cellular modems, SIM configuration, and related components
• Familiarity with Bills of Materials (BoMs)
• PAT and power testing experience
