Accounts Manager

Account Manager – Financial Markets Technology

This role gives you ownership of high-value client relationships and the freedom to shape how they’re developed — not just maintain them.

You’ll take responsibility for a portfolio of around 50 Tier 1 financial services clients within a specialist financial markets technology business. Because the role hasn’t been tightly defined or over-engineered, you have the autonomy to decide how relationships are deepened, where value is created, and how the account strategy evolves.

That autonomy matters. Instead of simply servicing accounts, you’re expected to influence how clients engage with the platform, expand usage over time, and build relationships that have real commercial impact.

You’ll work closely with senior leadership, including direct access to the CEO, which means your ideas don’t disappear into layers. Decisions are made quickly, and the quality of your thinking directly shapes outcomes.

A realistic example of impact:

People who’ve stepped into similar roles have taken under-developed client relationships and, over time, turned them into strategic accounts by increasing engagement, broadening use cases, and becoming a trusted point of contact for senior stakeholders. That visibility has translated into greater responsibility and progression as the commercial function has grown.

What you’ll be doing
  • Owning and developing relationships with Tier 1 financial services clients
  • Setting and executing account strategies rather than following a fixed playbook
  • Working directly with senior users and decision-makers
  • Identifying and delivering opportunities to expand client usage and value
  • Managing renewals and longer-term account growth
  • Influencing internal priorities through close work with leadership and product teams
Why this role moves your career forward
  • Autonomy: you shape the role rather than inherit one
  • Influence: direct access to leadership and senior clients
  • Progression: scope grows as accounts and relationships deepen
  • Visibility: your work is seen and valued at the top of the business
Experience that fits
  • Experience managing or developing client relationships in financial markets
  • Strong understanding of trading or broking environments
  • Commercial mindset with confidence around renewals and growth
  • Comfortable taking ownership and working independently
  • Credible communicator at senior client level

If you’re looking for a role where your experience turns into real influence and clear progression, I’m happy to talk it through.
