Database Assistant (Salesforce)

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive junior Database Assistant to help maintain and optimize our CRMs Salesforce and Account Engagement. In this role, you'll be central to ensuring data accuracy, streamlining marketing automation workflows, and enabling internal teams to make informed, data-driven decisions. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build their career in CRM management or marketing operations. Experience with Salesforce or Account Engagement is highly desirable.

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Data Management & Quality

Administer and maintain the marketing database in Salesforce and Account Engagement, ensuring data accuracy, completeness, integrity and overall health of customer records.

Monitor and improve data quality by addressing discrepancies, inconsistencies and duplicates, while regularly cleansing outdated information.

Update and cross-check research lists with the database, liaising with the research team to schedule updates to expand the database with new high-quality leads.

Identify opportunities to enhance the Salesforce functionality and propose innovative solutions to improve performance.

 

Automation & System Maintenance

Collaborate with the marketing team to optimise workflows, nurture programs and improve lead conversion rates.

Maintain and monitor Account Engagement automation rules, segmentation lists and engagement programs to ensure effectiveness.

Conduct periodic checks to ensure seamless data synchronisation between Salesforce, Account Engagement and other business systems.

 

Reporting & Analytics

Generate regular reports on database health, lead generation, campaign performance, and sales outcomes.

Create and update reports and dashboards to analyse key KPIs for internal stakeholders.

Track the impact of data hygiene and automation improvements on marketing ROI.

 

User Support & Collaboration

Provide guidance and support to team members on Salesforce/Account Engagement database queries, list pulls and reporting needs.

Provide timely support to the marketing and database managers as required.

 

Compliance & Best Practices

Ensure full compliance with data privacy regulations and follow best practices for secure data handling.

Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in database management and marketing automation.

 

Skills & Qualifications

Educated to degree level; preferred fields include Marketing, Business, Information Systems or equivalent.

CRM experience is required, 1 to 2 years.

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs/XLOOKUPs, formulas, data analysis, and data cleansing).

Excellent attention to detail with a focus on accuracy, data integrity and quality control.

Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

Good communication and collaboration skills for working across teams.

Familiarity with Salesforce and Account Engagement (desired but not essential - training will be provided).

Understanding of marketing databases, CRM systems, or marketing automation tools is a plus.

The job holder will do all above tasks within his/her level of skill and ability
