Build Support Engineer / Build & Release Support
We’re looking for a Build Support Engineer to join a busy technical environment in a hands-on support role focused on keeping build and delivery processes running smoothly.
This position is ideal for someone with experience in build support, release support, CI support, technical operations, software support, application support, or engineering support who enjoys troubleshooting issues, analysing logs, and working closely with technical teams to keep things moving.
What you’ll be doing:
- Monitoring build and pipeline activity and helping keep processes running smoothly
- Acting as a first point of contact for build failures and unexpected issues
- Investigating problems using logs, outputs, and system behaviour
- Identifying recurring issues and helping technical teams understand likely causes
- Supporting developers, QA, and infrastructure teams with issue resolution
- Escalating critical issues where needed and communicating updates clearly
- Maintaining simple troubleshooting notes and support documentation
What we’re looking for:
- Experience in a technical support, build support, release support, CI support, software support, or operational engineering role
- Confidence investigating technical issues and working through logs or outputs
- Exposure to build pipelines, automated processes, software delivery, or release workflows
- Ability to work collaboratively with technical teams in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills and a proactive, problem-solving mindset
Nice to have:
Experience with some of the following would be helpful, but is not essential:
- Build / CI tools such as TeamCity, Jenkins, GitLab CI, Bamboo, Azure DevOps or similar
- Version control tools such as Perforce, Git or similar
- Exposure to development environments or software delivery teams
- Basic debugging or scripting experience
- Any exposure to C# or C++
- Experience supporting build, release, or deployment processes
Contract details:
- PAYE contract
- Hybrid working – 2 to 4 days per week onsite
- Location: Twycross / Tamworth
- Contract length: 12–18 months
