Role: Azure Engineer

Location: London (Hybrid – on-site 2–3 days per week)

Contract Type: Initial 6 months (extension likely)

Day Rate: Competitive (outside IR35, depending on experience)

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Azure Engineer to join our team on a contract basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure and scalable cloud solutions on Microsoft Azure. This role will suit a hands-on engineer with strong technical expertise and a proven track record of delivering enterprise-grade cloud infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize Azure-based infrastructure and services.
• Implement and manage Azure networking, storage, compute, and monitoring solutions.
• Work closely with development and operations teams to support CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation.
• Ensure security, compliance, and governance best practices are applied across cloud environments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in Azure environments.
• Provide technical documentation and knowledge transfer to internal teams.
• Support migration of workloads to Azure and optimize existing deployments.

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as an Azure Engineer or Cloud Infrastructure Engineer.
• Strong knowledge of Azure services : Virtual Machines, AKS, App Services, Functions, Networking, Azure AD, Storage, and Monitoring.
• Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) – Terraform, ARM Templates, or Bicep.
• Hands-on experience with DevOps practices and tools such as GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or Jenkins.
• Knowledge of networking, security, and identity management in Azure.
• Experience with PowerShell, Python, or Bash scripting .
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative, Agile environment.

Desirable Skills

• Azure certification(s) (e.g., AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-400).
• Experience with hybrid cloud and on-premises integrations.
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of cost optimization and FinOps in Azure.
