Overview

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst with strong Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) exposure and a solid understanding of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and data-driven solutions. This role will support strategic transactions and post-merger integration while helping to identify and deliver AI-enabled business improvements across the organisation.

The successful candidate will work closely with senior stakeholders across strategy, finance, technology, and operations to ensure that acquisition objectives are translated into actionable business and technology outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Mergers & Acquisitions

  • Support pre-deal activities, including target assessment, due diligence, synergy analysis, and value case development
  • Lead business and functional analysis during M&A lifecycle stages (pre-acquisition, Day 1 readiness, and post-merger integration)
  • Document and analyse current-state and future-state processes, operating models, and systems
  • Identify risks, dependencies, and integration challenges, proposing pragmatic mitigation strategies
  • Support synergy tracking and benefits realisation initiatives

AI & Digital Enablement

  • Identify opportunities to apply AI, automation, and advanced analytics to enhance business performance
  • Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and technology teams to translate business requirements into AI-enabled solutions
  • Support use cases such as:
  • Process automation
  • Predictive analytics
  • Intelligent reporting and decision support
  • Ensure AI initiatives align with business strategy, governance standards, and ethical AI principles

Stakeholder & Delivery Management

  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, translating strategy into clear requirements and deliverables
  • Facilitate workshops, interviews, and design sessions across business and technology teams
  • Produce high-quality documentation including:
  • Business cases
  • Requirements (BRDs, user stories, acceptance criteria)
  • Process maps and operating models
  • Support delivery teams using Agile, hybrid, or waterfall approaches

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst within M&A or corporate development environments
  • Strong understanding of deal lifecycle, integration planning, and/or carve-outs
  • Experience working on technology-enabled change initiatives, ideally involving AI, data, or automation
  • Ability to analyse complex data and processes and present insights clearly to senior audiences
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Experience working in consulting, private equity, financial services, or complex enterprise environments
  • Right to work in the UK

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Exposure to AI/ML concepts (e.g. machine learning models, NLP, RPA, decision intelligence)
  • Experience with data platforms, cloud ecosystems, or analytics tools
  • Knowledge of post-merger integration (PMI) frameworks
  • Agile certifications (e.g. Scrum, SAFe, or equivalent)
  • Experience supporting PE-backed or high-growth organisations
