Business Analyst - NHS - Robotic Process Automation (RPA)

Organisation: Consultancy supporting a large NHS Trust

We are supporting a large global consultancy who are working with a large NHS organisation and are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support a growing Robotic Process Automation (RPA).

The Trust has a high and increasing demand for automation, and limited development capacity. This role will focus on analysing, prioritising and documenting automation opportunities, ensuring that RPA development effort is directed towards the highest-value processes and that developer time is not spent on upfront analysis.



Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse and assess requests within the Trust's RPA pipeline

  • Work with clinical, operational and corporate teams to understand current processes and identify automation opportunities

  • Produce clear Process Design Documentation (PDD) to support RPA development

  • Quantify and articulate the value of automation opportunities, including:

    • Cost savings and cost avoidance

    • Staff time released

    • Operational efficiency improvements

    • Potential clinical or patient safety benefits

  • Support prioritisation decisions where demand exceeds available development capacity

  • Proactively identify high-value automation opportunities, including in areas where requests have not yet been raised

  • Act as a link between service areas and RPA developers, ensuring requirements are clear, agreed and well documented



Essential Skills & Experience

  • Experience working with Robotic Process Automation or similar automation technologies in a NHS environment (essential need by the client).
  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst on NHS projects/programmes.

  • Strong process analysis and documentation skills

  • Experience developing business cases or benefits assessments

  • Ability to engage confidently with a wide range of stakeholders, including clinical and non-clinical teams

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess value and challenge assumptions



This role in Inside of IR35 regulations with payment via an umbrella company.

Hybrid working.
