Contract Project Manager - Change Programme (Financial Services)
6 Month Contract | Mainly Remote (occasional travel to Bristol or Maidenhead)

An established Financial Services organisation is looking for an experienced Contract Project Manager to join their change programme on an initial 6 month contract.

This is a mainly remote role with occasional travel required to offices in Bristol or Maidenhead.

About the role

This contract Project Manager will take ownership of the end-to-end coordination, implementation and delivery of assigned projects within a wider change programme, ensuring consistency with the business plan and change management approach. They will manage robust project plans, budgets and governance while working closely with senior stakeholders to ensure successful delivery.

Key responsibilities

  • Own the overall coordination, implementation, execution, control and transition of assigned projects
  • Develop and manage project plans (high level, milestone and detailed), tracking quality and benefits realisation
  • Define and manage project budgets, including change control and additional funding requests
  • Support the definition of project scope and objectives, engaging the right stakeholders and securing approvals
  • Manage changes to scope and schedule through formal change control
  • Plan and manage project resources effectively
  • Produce concise project reporting and run programme boards to communicate progress to stakeholders
  • Establish and run effective governance in line with the change lifecycle
  • Identify, manage, report and mitigate project risks and issues
  • Maintain key project artefacts including RASCI, RAID logs, business case, budget and resource trackers

Required Experience

  • Proven experience in project management within change programmes
  • Previous experience working within Financial Services organisations
  • Experience operating within regulated environments (FCA or similar regulatory frameworks)
  • Experience delivering change within post-merger or integration environments would be advantageous
  • Ability to manage senior stakeholders and constructively challenge where needed
  • Experience of HR change programmes would be useful, though not essential

This is a 6 month contract, outside IR35 with a start date schedules for early September.
