Data & Analytics Lead

Role Summary

We are looking for an experienced Senior Data & Analytics Lead with strong expertise in the Specialty Insurance domain, particularly MGAs, to lead and deliver client-facing analytics and reporting initiatives.

This role combines hands-on technical delivery with leadership responsibility, including managing offshore teams from a UK-based, client-facing position. You will work closely with stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable, high-quality data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Client Engagement & Delivery

  • Act as the primary onshore contact for client stakeholders
  • Gather and translate business requirements into data and analytics solutions
  • Lead project delivery by coordinating offshore teams, ensuring quality and timeliness
  • Provide recommendations on improving data, analytics, and reporting capabilities
  • Maintain strong governance, documentation, and communication across distributed teams

Data & Analytics Leadership

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of analytics solutions, from requirements through to deployment
  • Design and deliver datasets, dashboards, and reports supporting underwriting and performance tracking
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and alignment with insurance definitions

Technical Responsibilities

  • Hands-on development and oversight of:
  • SQL (data extraction, transformation, validation)
  • Power BI dashboards and reporting
  • Power Apps for workflow automation
  • Support bordereaux production, validation, and reporting processes
  • Optimise data models and reporting performance

Domain Expertise

  • Apply deep understanding of Specialty Insurance, including:
  • MGA operating models
  • Bordereaux structures and reporting requirements
  • Underwriting and financial data concepts
  • Advise clients on best practices in data and analytics within the insurance sector

Skills & Experience

Required

  • 7–10 years’ experience in Data & Analytics, preferably within Insurance
  • Strong experience in Specialty Insurance and MGA environments
  • Experience leading offshore delivery while working closely with onshore stakeholders
  • Advanced SQL expertise
  • Hands-on experience with Power BI and Power Apps
  • Knowledge of bordereaux processes and reporting
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Analytical, solution-oriented mindset with a proactive approach
  • Ability to balance hands-on delivery with leadership responsibilities

Preferred

  • Experience within consulting or professional services
  • Exposure to cloud data platforms or modern data architectures
  • Familiarity with data quality frameworks and governance practices
