Desktop Support Engineer

Job Title: Laptop Refresh Engineer (SC Cleared or Willing to Undergo Clearance)

Location: Various UK Sites

Contract Type: Contract (Inside/Outside IR35 status to be confirmed)

Clearance: SC Clearance required – candidates must be British Citizens holding a UK passport . Candidates without current clearance must be willing to undergo vetting.

Role Overview:

We are seeking a proactive and security-cleared (or clearance-eligible) Laptop Refresh Engineer to support a large-scale hardware migration project across secure UK sites. This role involves hands-on setup of refresh clinics, device handling, and accurate updating of workflow systems under the guidance of site management.

Key Responsibilities:

Migration Set-up & Clinic Deployment

• Assist in setting up refresh clinics according to site-specific guidelines.
• Relocate hardware from the secure onsite storage to the clinic as directed by the Site Manager or Contractor Engineer.
• Log in to required systems using provided devices under supervision.

Laptop Refresh Execution

• Perform laptop refreshes in line with standard operating procedures.
• Update the contractor’s workflow management system accurately at each stage.
• Escalate any technical or procedural issues to the Post Migration Technical Support Specialist or Site Manager promptly.

Essential Requirements:

• Active SC Clearance or willingness to undergo SC vetting .
• UK passport and British Citizenship (mandatory due to security requirements).
• Experience in IT hardware support, deployments, or migrations.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions in a structured environment.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
