We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Full Stack Developer to join a dynamic public sector team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both front end and back end development, with a passion for creating innovative and efficient solutions for government focused programmes.

You will play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining web applications that address the unique challenges and requirements of the Defence & Security sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Designing, developing, and deploying robust web applications for public sector projects
  • Contributing across the full software development lifecycle in collaboration with cross-functional teams
  • Creating responsive and accessible user interfaces using modern front-end technologies and frameworks
  • Developing secure and efficient server-side logic
  • Implementing security best practices and ensuring compliance with government regulations
  • Conducting regular security assessments and collaborating to identify and address vulnerabilities
  • Developing and maintaining well-documented RESTful APIs
  • Working closely with project managers, UX/UI designers, and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions
  • Communicating effectively with non-technical stakeholders to ensure alignment with project objectives

Essential skills:

  • Active DV clearance
  • Proficiency in modern front-end technologies including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js
  • Strong server-side development skills using Node.js, Python, or Java
  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, including data modelling
  • Proven ability to analyse complex problems and implement effective solutions
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing requirements within a dynamic public sector environment

Desirable skills:

  • Familiarity with government processes, policies, and systems
  • Understanding of UX and accessibility principles, ensuring applications are usable for both government officials and the public
  • Experience developing and maintaining well-documented RESTful APIs
  • Knowledge of secure development practices and handling sensitive government data
