LOCATION: Manchester or London or Leicester (3 days per week on site with some weeks 5 days)
LENGTH: 12 months
SALARY: £41,000 to £45,000 per annum

We are actively looking to secure a Full Stack Developer to join Experis.

We are seeking a skilled Java Developer to join our dynamic team and contribute to the development of innovative software solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in Java programming, experience with modern frameworks and libraries, and a passion for delivering high-quality, maintainable code.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise-grade Java applications.
- Build scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions using modern Java frameworks and technologies.
- Develop and support microservices-based architectures and distributed systems.
- Collaborate with architects, business analysts, QA engineers, and other developers throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Participate in code reviews, ensuring adherence to coding standards and best practices.
- Create and maintain technical documentation for applications and services.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and the adoption of modern development practices.
- Support deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of applications in cloud and containerised environments.
Required Skills & Experience
Technical Skills
- Strong hands-on experience in Java development.
- Experience with one or more popular Java frameworks and libraries, including:
- Spring / Spring Boot
- Hibernate
- Struts
- JavaServer Faces (JSF)
- Apache Commons
- Guava
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles and software design patterns.
- Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs.
- Familiarity with microservices architecture and associated technologies, including:
- Docker
- Kubernetes
- Swagger / OpenAPI
- Experience with source control systems such as Git.
- Understanding of software testing methodologies and automated testing practices.
- Knowledge of Agile delivery methodologies.
Industry Experience
- Proven experience delivering solutions within the UK Public Sector.
- Understanding of Public Sector delivery frameworks, governance, security, and compliance requirements.
- Experience working on large-scale digital transformation or citizen-facing services is highly desirable.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Experience with messaging technologies and event-driven architectures.
- Familiarity with secure coding principles and application security standards.
- Exposure to container orchestration and cloud-native development patterns.
