Employment Type: Permanent

Level: Senior / Lead (flexible depending on experience)

Overview

We are seeking an experienced AI Engineer with strong M&A, transaction, or corporate development experience to design, build, and deploy AI‐driven solutions across the deal lifecycle. This role sits at the intersection of advanced machine learning, data engineering, and strategic transactions, supporting high‐impact decisions during acquisitions, integrations, and divestments.

You will work closely with investment teams, corporate development, finance, legal, and data teams to apply AI to due diligence, valuation, synergy modelling, risk analysis, and post‐merger integration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and deploy AI/ML models to support M&A activities, including:
  • Due diligence automation (financial, commercial, operational, and legal)
  • Target screening and opportunity identification
  • Risk detection and anomaly analysis
  • Synergy modelling and value‐creation forecasting
  • Develop LLM‐powered solutions for document analysis, contract review, data room interrogation, and summarisation.
  • Build scalable data pipelines and feature stores integrating structured and unstructured data (financials, contracts, operational data, market data).
  • Partner with corporate development, M&A, and strategy teams to translate deal requirements into technical solutions.
  • Support post‐merger integration (PMI) through AI‐enabled insights, reporting, and performance tracking.
  • Deploy solutions into production using modern MLOps and cloud practices.
  • Ensure models are explainable, auditable, and aligned with governance and regulatory requirements in transaction contexts.
  • Contribute to AI strategy, architecture, and best practices across the organisation.

  • Hands‐on experience with:
  • Python (PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit‐learn)
  • Data engineering tools (SQL, Spark, Airflow or similar)
  • LLMs, NLP, and document intelligence (e.g. RAG, embeddings)
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Understanding of MLOps, CI/CD, model monitoring, and governance.

M&A / Transaction Experience

  • Direct experience supporting M&A, private equity, corporate development, or transaction advisory.
  • Proven understanding of:
  • Due diligence processes
  • Valuation drivers and financial statements
  • Deal timelines and transaction workflows
  • Experience working with confidential, sensitive deal data.

Nice to Have

  • Background in investment banking, PE, consulting, or transaction services.
  • Experience applying AI to financial modelling, forecasting, or market intelligence.
  • Familiarity with regulatory, legal, or compliance data in M&A contexts.
  • Experience in post‐merger integration analytics.
  • Exposure to explainable AI (XAI) and model risk management.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong problem‐solver who can bridge technical depth and commercial thinking.
  • Comfortable working with senior stakeholders during high‐pressure deal environments.
  • Able to operate across ambiguous, fast‐moving transaction scenarios.
  • Excellent communication skills — able to explain complex AI outputs to non‐technical audiences.

What’s on Offer

  • Competitive salary + bonus + benefits
  • High‐impact role working on live transactions
  • Exposure to senior leadership and strategic decision‐making
  • Opportunity to shape and scale an AI capability within M&A
