Pay Rate: Up to £644 per day umbrella only
Clearance Required: BPSS
Duration: 6 months
Location: Ideally Hybrid - Crewe but remote working could be an option

Summary:
A senior SAP HCM Payroll consultant (ideally 10+ years' experience) is required to lead the discovery, shape the solution, and provide hands-on delivery support to ensure compliance with HMRC's mandatory Payrolling of Benefits (PBIK) legislation becoming effective from April 2027. The role would combine SAP Payroll expertise, UK payroll legislative knowledge, stakeholder engagement and delivery experience.

Role:
The consultant will work directly with the client Payroll, HR, Tax and IT stakeholders to undertake a discovery exercise, assess the current SAP Payroll landscape, define the target solution, and support the subsequent implementation of required SAP Payroll enhancements.
The engagement will support the client's transition from the current P11D-based reporting model to a real-time payroll-based process for taxable benefits, ensuring that payroll calculations, payroll reporting and HMRC submissions align with new legislative requirements effective from April 2027.

Objectives:
* Assess existing SAP Payroll processes, interfaces and benefit administration arrangements.
* Conduct a detailed gap analysis against HMRC Payrolling of Benefits requirements.
* Define the target SAP Payroll solution and supporting business processes.
* Support development, configuration and testing activities.
* Ensure compliance with HMRC Real Time Information (RTI) requirements.
* Support delivery of a production-ready solution in line with the required HMRC timelines.
* Transfer knowledge to the Bentley payroll and application support teams

SAP Experience:
* Extensive SAP HCM Payroll experience.
* Strong SAP UK Payroll functional expertise.
* Experience of SAP Payroll schemas and rules.
* Experience of payroll-related SAP developments and customisations.
* Experience supporting payroll integrations and interfaces.
* Experience with HR and payroll data structures within SAP.

Legislative Knowledge:
* Strong understanding of UK Payroll legislation.
* Experience supporting HMRC compliance initiatives.
* Understanding of RTI reporting processes.
* Knowledge of taxable benefits and benefits-in-kind taxation.
* Experience of payroll compliance and audit requirements.
