Location: UK (Hybrid/3/4 days on site near Waterloo)

Clearance: SC Clearance (Active or eligible)

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced SAP S/4HANA Basis Consultant to play a key role in a major UK Government SAP transformation programme. This is a hands-on technical role focused on the build, operation, and ongoing stability of a complex SAP S/4HANA landscape operating to government and regulatory standards.

You will work as part of a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team, supporting a modern, DevOps-led approach to SAP delivery and ensuring the SAP environment is secure, resilient, and fit for purpose.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer, configure, and maintain the SAP S/4HANA landscape across development, quality, and production environments
• Perform system builds, landscape management, system refreshes, and transport management activities
• Manage SAP kernel upgrades, support package deployments, and performance tuning
• Configure and support SAP Solution Manager, including:

IT Service Management (ITSM)

Change Request Management (ChaRM)

Focused Build

• Embed and operate SAP technical operations frameworks aligned to ITIL and government standards
• Work closely with infrastructure, security, and application teams to ensure system resilience, compliance, and security
• Support audit, assurance, and compliance activities within a regulated environment
• Contribute to continuous improvement of SAP DevOps and automation practices

Essential Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as an SAP S/4HANA Basis Consultant in large-scale or enterprise environments
• Strong hands-on expertise with SAP Basis administration, system builds, and landscape management
• Demonstrable experience using SAP Solution Manager (ChaRM, ITSM, Focused Build)
• Proficiency with DevOps tooling, including:

GitLab

BitBucket

Puppet

• Experience operating in a pipeline-driven, DevOps-enabled SAP environment
• Strong understanding of ITIL-aligned change and service management processes

Desirable Experience

• SAP running on cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS
• Experience working within UK Government or highly regulated environments
• Familiarity with government technical, security, and assurance standards
